(PRWEB) March 2, 2005 -- Kaleidoscope Dance and Movement Center's
Elite troupe competed in the Tremaine National Dance Convention this
past Saturday, February 26. They took 1st place in the Lyrical
category with their performance of "If I Ain't Got You",
which was choreographed by KDMC's owner and Artistic Director,
Heather O'Connor. The convention and competition is hosted by
internationally known choreographer/teacher, Joe Tremaine. The event
was held at the Downtown Chicago Hyatt and featured dancers from all
over North America.
As a result of their win, the dance troupe has been invited to
compete in the international dance competition held in mid-July in
Orlando, FL. The dance troupe performs throughout the year and will
be featured in KDMC's spring show set for May 22 at the North Shore
Centre for the Performing Arts.
"This was a great opportunity for these young ladies to
showcase their talents and the hard work they've put into their
dancing this year," said O'Connor. "I was extremely
pleased with their performance and they received exceptional
compliments from the judges and other teachers."
